Another little watercolor, this time with some silly little m birds turning into clouds in the back.
The different directions right now seem not to stop. I also have been randomly doing some watercolor landscapes, I’m intrigued by the concept of a “painter’s algorithm”, a phrase used in reference to landscapes often. The idea is that there is a particular way in which landscapes are constructed (light to dark and back to front) as if there is somehow an “incorrect” way to make a painting. Besides my personal opinion on such a restrictive means of painting I’ve been mining these little paintings for some pretty useful tools, such as reflections and spatial play.
This ones been around 2 weeks, sort of the jump off point for the larger paintings I’m working on currently.
